Hello.

I have Office 2000 (or Office XP, i can never remember).
Is there a way i can recover a previously saved version
of a document? I accidently over-wrote a document and
cannot figure out how to get it back.

If you have "Automatically create backup copy" enabled (Tools | Options |
Save), look for "Backup of <filename>.wbk." It will be (depending on how you
overwrote the file) either the current version of the original file or the
most recent previous version.

Thank you. If i do not have this "automatically create
backup copy" enabled, is there another way i can get the
previous version?

Also, how do i look for the "backup of <filename>.wbk?
Just search the drives?

Thanks again for the help!

If you don't have the option enabled, now you know why you should. The
backup will be in the same folder as the document file, but you'll have to
display All Files to see it.
