My secondary hard drive crashed between backups and there were some office
files that I am trying to recover. The recovery program found them all and
they all appear the correct size but only some of them work, some won't open
and some open and just look like gobbledegook. Are the files I am having
problems with screwed or is there any other way to get them? Thanks in
advance.

Hi Bob,

Those that won't open or are gobbledygook are likely damaged beyond the
average user's ability to recover them. If they are critical, you should
look into a professional data recovery specialist.

If the files have been recovered but are corrupt, then the data is
corrupt and there is nothing you can do about that. Restore from
backups.
