Recovering Data

I have some important data on a floppy disk 'A' drive and accidentally
overwrote or deleted it. After I had saved my work I wanted to rename the
file, which I did, but a message came up asking if I wanted to replace the
file. I said yes and my work disappeared. It must still be there as I saved
it on the floppy, but not the hard drive.
I have tried a number of ways of retrieving it but I'm just not computer
savvy enough to do it. Does anyone know how to do this. --

No it isn't.
You were asked if you wanted to overwrite it and you said yes, so it's gone.
You might be able to recover bit's and pieces of it, but not the entire thing
try undelete, do a search for it on the net.

Further to what the other respondents said: Never ever
use a floppy disk for data storage. They are far too unreliable
and they age poorly over time. Store your important files on
your hard disk and use at least one but preferably two flash
disks ("Memory sticks") as a backup medium. They don't
cost much, they are far more reliable than floppy disks and
each holds as much data as one hundred or more floppy disks,
depending on what you buy.
