RECORDING MOUSE MOVEMENT

I have about 30 slide which I have been asked to demonstrate as a self
running presentation.

I need to be able to show the mouse moving to a specific graphic/link
and then for it to go to the relevant slide/target.

Ideally, i'd like to make it self-running with no interaction by the
user (my boss) at the conference (he will mess it up if he has to
touch it!) using just PowerPoint.

I guess I could use a video to do this .. video capturing my movements
from powerpoint and ending up as an mpeg in powerpoint - much heavier
in terms of files size and not as crisp as powerpoint on it's own.

Any help much appreciated?

Hi Jeff,

you did not mention the version of PowerPoint you are using. In the newer
versions 2002 and 2003 you can assign an animation path to an object.

So you could insert the picture of a mouse arrow and fake the movement using
animations. But you cannot click on a hyperlink with this "fake mouse", you
would have to use slide timings to change to the next slide.

Kind regards,
Ute

there is a piece of software called camtasia by www.techsmith.com that will
capture everything that happens during a powerpoint slideshow (including the
mouse pointer, if need be)...and save it as a video clip.

There is a tutorial on how to capture your pres here
