Til now I was downloading from my tape recorder holding
the microphon near to the loudspeaker.
How can I connect my tape recorder straight to my pc and
so achieve better quality of the downloaded song.
I have:
pentium 4
windows xp
soundcard: creative audiopc1 (es1371 es1373)(wdm)

Thanks a lot

Hi, Shlomo.

Your sound card should have input jacks for a cable from the output jacks of
your tape recorder.

I made CDs from several old (45 years!) vinyl LPs by buying a turntable
(THAT wasn't easy to find!) and then finding stereo cables with the proper
plugs on both ends to hook it to my Sound Blaster. Then I used software
that came with my TDK CD-RW. I've also used the Plus! Analog Recorder from
the MS Plus! Digital Media Edition to create CDs.

Having read R.C. Whites reply.....may I make the following suggestion:

As the stylus on your turntable may wear out before you 'get it
right'......copy your vinyl to tape first....then do the CD from cassette.

Raoul;
Sounds (no pun intended) like excellent advice to me. :o) I still have a
pretty good turntable, but I would hate to go looking for a new cartridge. I'm
gonna put that on my to-do list.
Thanks for the tip.
