recordable cd drive not detected

I have recordable cd as well as recordable cd/dvd drives on my computer that I have used with a couple of other video and slideshow programs with no problems. What is it with MM2? I get the message recordable CD drive not detected. I have tried all the suggestions in MM2 Help.

Go to "my computer" right clik your recording drive and clik properties. then clik recordings and check the "enable recording box

This is what I did and it worked
 
Thanks B Stone I was finally able to record after doing what you said and put in a blank disk after that. But unfortunately it still won't play on my tv. It says I've got the wrong kind of disk even though I've played this disk with still pics and music before. Man, who said technology was great. They must have been sharper than me!!!
