Ok, we're running Outlook 2003 and Exchange 5.5 (I know, I know). In
Outlook when you go to my Address Book I can view the Glabal Address
List, Recipients List, my Contacts etc.
Thing is, I have an old user who recently chnged their name, they had
just started so they saved their 4 or 5 messsages and I was able to
simply delete the old names mailbox and create a newone with the proper
name. All went fine.
Now, when I (or other users) look at the Recipients list in the
Address Book they see the OLD name and NOT the NEW one. How do I go
about removing the old name alltogether and adding the new name to my
Recipients list??
There seems to be no reference to the old name on the mail server,
and the new name is (as it should be) the only one listed in the Global
Address List.
The "delete" option in the address book (Recipients List) is greyed
out, but I've removed the old name from the auto-complete cache.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

In particular, if Outlook is operating in Cached Exchange mode, you'd need to download the offline address book, which may not yet have the change in it if the OAB generation routine hasn't run on the server yet after the change was made.

K, I've had a look at the advanced settings for the Address book in
Outlook. It seems "Download Offline Address Book" is checked, and it's
getting the (Domain Name)\Recipients list from the server.
The Recipients list in Exchange Manager is fuly up-to-date; it has no
listing for the old username and cleary lists the new one (hence my
confusion).
I AM running in Cached Mode, and I have been running "connected" all
week (the old user was deleted over a week ago). How do I force my
Address book to sync up with the server's Recipients list? Is there a
way for meto review the Offline Address book on the server and push it
out to all the users? Aside from the Recipients list itself and the
name formatting options, I see no modifiable "Offline Address Book."

Any thoughts??

Thanks
