Hi. This message appears when I try to send Emails:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: [SPAM]Re: skypen',
Account: 'pop.gmx.net', Server: 'mail.gmx.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
What can I do?

Was your Internet connectivity being obtained from GMX when you got
that error message?
As a general rule, the owner of the SMTP server must be the same as
the one providing your Internet connection at that moment.
Are you using your home ISP or are you sending from a laptop away
from home?

Are you connected to the Internet through GMX at the time?

No, GMX is not my Inet provider, but I do not know who it is. I am using a
laptop and use the network of the people living with me (they have that
Wlan-thing from apple). Does this information help you?

What you are experiencing is normal, see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

As I stated in my earlier reply to you, the owner of the SMTP server must
be the same as the one providing your Internet connection at that moment.

If you do not know the SMTP server associated with your Internet connection,
then you have only two workarounds available:
1) Use webmail for sending (via your browser), or
2) Get a free Gmail account, configure it for POP access, and use it for your
sending chores.
Gmail uses port 465 for SMTP, which is not blocked like port 25 is.

What exactly is Gmail? Would I have to change my address? I changed the 25
into 465 but it's still not working.... :( I am desperate! ^^

If you need immediate access to sending, you can do so from your
provider's webmail: http://www.gmx.net.

You can't go changing port numbers or settings for a mail server unless
they are specified for that particular mail server. So, settings that apply
to the Gmail server will not apply to the GMX server, and vice versa.

The best way to find out about things like Gmail is to Google it.
You can also go to http://gmail.com to find out about it, but typically
third party reviews are more helpful.

You can use your existing email address with Gmail, but you have to
get it verified first, see:
