recently used file list

i'm using office 2003 on win 2K Pro. In Word as well as
the others, I can't see the Recently used file list. I
read somewhere that I should go to Tools > Options >
General Tab and check the Recently used file list
checkbox. But that option is grayed out.

I need that list to show up. Please help

You may have checked an option in the TweakUI PowerToy to disable it.
