Bob

I have had an MSN e-mail account for years. I can send e-
mail and view e-mail in my MSN folder in Outlook. I have
added a new e-mail account (Verizon) that is set up as my
default. I can send e-mail from it but I cannot view e-
mail from this new account. In Outlook, I see 3 top
folders: Archive, MSN, and Outlook Today. The Inbox in
the MSN folder receives my MSN e-mail. How do I add
another folder, or point my MSN folder to this new
Verizon e-mail account, to receive and view my Verizon e-
mail?

If you added a Verizon account and made it your default, then that's your
"Outlook Today".

Bob,
Since you obviously have a Verizon account already set up (you said you can
send email using your Verizon account), the problem is more than likely your
incoming mail settings. Usually, this is simply a typo. Here's how to
verify/fix these settings.
On the main menu, select Tools then Accounts.
Select the Mail tab. You should see all your accounts here (Verizon, MSN,
etc.).
Select Verizon then click Properties.
Go to the Servers tab and make sure the settings match these:

a.. Incoming mail server (POP3): incoming.verizon.net
a.. Outgoing mail server (SMTP): outgoing.verizon.net

In the section Incoming Mail Server, carefully type your Verizon user name
and password.
These boxes are case sensitive!
Make sure the two boxes under this are NOT checked (Log on using..., & My
server requires...).
Click OK then click Close.

That (hopefully) should do it.

Hope this helps. Please post back either way.
Good Luck

Bob,
The comments from "Down Home" should get you working OK. I had the same
problems getting Verizon setup in Outlook 2003, but they worked fine in
Outlook Express. I just imported the email set-up from OE into Outlook and
everything started working.

However on the comment below
"Make sure the two boxes under this are NOT checked (Log on using..., & My
server requires...)."

Mine does require the "My Server required Auth." checked and then use the
same properties on the next tab checked. At least for Verizon DSL, you need
this checked.
