Recently I've been getting junk mail "from" senders whose
names may appear in the text, or seem to come from my
contact list; contacts with whom I may have recently
exchanged emails. A fair share of my contacts have first
or last names not seen too often: Scandinavian, Russian
bloc, Hispanic, etc.; others have common sounding names
with uncommon spellings. Examples: Roxxey, Roque, Rolly,
Vogt, Huger, Hollas, Tristao.
If, for instance, the contact's full name is "Roxxey
Jones," I may receive junk mail from a sender named
(e-mail address removed), or just plain, Roxxey.
The sender names vary but, since becoming aware of this
there have been, perhaps, 15-20 occurrences; too many to
write off as coincidence.
If someone has ideas or suggestions, I'd really appreciate
some input.
I've tried Ad-aware, Spyware Scanner, Hi-Jack This without
locating a source of the matter.
