Receiving fax

I have Windows XP with Microsoft Fax Console pre-
installed. I have no trouble receiving faxes if I click
(click here to answer fax) on the computer when the phone
rings without answering the phone first (you need to have
ESP to be able to tell when the incoming call is likely
to be a fax), however if the phone rings (and I answer it
and then hear the incoming fax noise), and then click the
(click here to answer fax) balloon on the computer, it
kicks in and starts receiving the fax OK - shows the
senders phone number - but cuts out before the fax has
been received. Shows as failed fax on my console and also
on the sender's console. Is this fixable?

Can you receive the fax automatically if you don't pick up the phone while
the phone rings? If yes then everything is OK. Any fax session is extremely
time sensitive. So you should figure out a way to use distinctive ringing
with windows XP to tackle this problem. You can find more information on
