I am using Outlook 2000, and for some reason I have to
hit the send/receive button everytime I start up
Outlook. I have the same software at work and when I
start it up at work it automatically receives any emails
that are available. How can I get my home office Outlook
to do the same?

I'm using outlook 2003, so it could be slightly different, but I seem to
remember that these screens have been substantively the same since Outlook
97.

Tools menu --> options.

Mail Setup tab --> Send/Receive options. Select to do an automatic send and
receive every X minutes (it's unchecked now, I'd bet).

Should fix it.
