received emails did not show up in inbox

While Outlook 2003 was receiving 6 messages when my son exited Outlook. When
I opened Outlook again the 6 messages were nowhere to be found. I selected
send/receive again but nothing came in. Where did they go? Can I get them
back? Do the senders know that I didn't actually receive them?

Have you checked your junk e-mail and Deleted Message folders?
