I was told to reboot my system when my computer had a
virus. But when I try I get a message saying, a
component needed to run windows could not be installed,
and goes on to say something may be wrong with the disk.
Also says something about fatal error, and that something
is wrong with the manifold. Now I can not reinstall
Windows XP on my computer and now my computer is useless.
What can I do now. Will I have to get another disk?

"Rebooting" means that you turn the computer off, then turn it on again.
While that may be helpful if the computer hangs, it's certainly not going to
do any good for a virus.

To get rid of a virus, you need antivirus software -- preferably installed
before you get any viruses, so it keeps them out -- or you may be able to
remove the virus after the fact, but that makes it more difficult, If you
know what the virus is, you may be able to download tools that would let you
remove that specific virus. There may also be instructions on how to remove
a particular virus manually.

Reinstalling Windows will not get rid of the virus, but it may get you going
well enough to a point where you might be able to run some antivirus tools.
Or you could do a clean install of Windows, which would erase everything on
the computer including the virus and all of your files.

As far as needing another disk, probably not, but what disk are you
referring to?
