I have seen several postings regarding the automatic reboot, reboot, and
reboot issue after installing SP2 but have seen no answers. Is this being
intentionally ignored? Below is my posting of yesterday and I see others
similar...
"A friend of mine has a Compaq laptop with an Athon chip and is running XP.
All of a sudden the machine starts up in the mode selection screen (Safe,
Normal, Last Used, etc.) and regardless of which mode is selected the
Windows XP screen will appear with the progress bar running across. Once
the progress bar reaches the end, a blue screen with some sort of message
goes by so quickly that it can't be read and the machine will reboot with
the startup mode selection screen coming up again as in the beginning. Any
idea what is causing this and what can be done to get this machine at least
into windows.
