Reboot after SP2 install fails with 0x1000007f

The first code in the error stack is 0000000D. From the MS
documentation, this appears to be a software related
problem.

Is this a known difficulty and if not, does anyone have
any bright ideas on how to resolve it?

Eventually discovered that the error does not occur if
the Zone Labs IFlex V6 software (successor to Zone Alarm)
is not installed during installation of XP SP2.

Installation was smooth after IFlex removed.

Following SP2 install, IFLEX reinstalled and the error
returns. In this situation booted to safe mode and
deinstalled IFLEX and all is well again.
