Reboot after installing Norton Antivirus 5

The first time I boot for a day, Just after the Norton Antivirus protection
icon appears in the system task bar, and just before the Palm Hotsynch should
appear, the computer does a reboot. After rebooting, I have an error saying
there was a system failure. The event log shows a system error with category
102, event ID 1003, Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2
804e194e, parameter3 edeff87c, parameter4 00000000.
There are no associated files or dlls. It indicates it was a kernal error.

Any ideas?
