Is there any utility that will enable this? I've tried a couple,
one didn't work and the other required disabling the "group
similar buttons" function, which I can't do because I run too
many IE-based java windows during the day.

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks. Doing the job very nicely.

Take care,

I wonder, though, if there's a free utility that will stay
resident and automatically send buttons to preset locations on
the taskbar. I have a lot of TSR's, as they used to be called,
already, but this would be a worthwhile addition.

I run X-Desk, so I never have more than about 6 programs showing on
any one desk.

I have 3 monitors running at times, and often 2, but only one
taskbar. The grouping option is very handy for me, but I still
need to deal with the button sort order.

Thus far I've come across Taskbar Manager and Taskbar Commander,
for $10, and Button Boogie, for $6, that work persistently. Might
be worth it to spring for the feature. I've also suggested the
enhancement to the author of TaskArrange.

X-Desk simulates multiple desktops (and multiple taskbars) on one
monitor. And 1.96 was freeware for personal use.

Interesting. I don't think I have use for it, but will bear it in
mind.

Thanks,

I suggest using "Taskbar Manager" at http://www.askarya.com/tm/tm.asp
and it allows you to drag and drip taskbar buttons. You can also
selectively hide/show those buttons.

HTH

Perhaps you didn't notice the button which says "Buy Now" -- price is GBP
5.97. What a pity, I've always wanted a dripping button (-:
