Hello, em I dreaming or do I have an odd version of MS-Excell???

How to write/delete anyhting in the MS-Excel sheet locked by passw
against writing/deleting...

Just open for reading - you can write/delete anything inside, just
saving it with the same name is forbiden. So save it e.g. as
old_name_1.xls, close MS-Excel and then rename old_name_1.xls to
old_name.xls (in file manager).

You have file named identically as before and moreover - it still
tells you it is "protected" against write/delete (with all writing and
deletings you made according preceding paragraph...).

Is there any other really functional protection?

Martin

Are you sure you have the worksheet protected and the cells in question locked?

It kind of sounds like you're talking about workbook protection--from the
file|SaveAs|tools|General options (or file|saveas|options) dialog.

Look under the tools menu. Do you see an unprotect sheet or protect sheet
option?
