Anyone got an idea how to really clear the addressbar history, I have
tried to clear history, deleted all files that exists in history directory,
BUT still when I start to write a URL in the addressfield old ones pops
up?!?!?!

With no IE windows open, try it from Control Panel> Internet Options>
General> Delete files & Delete all offline content.

These entries might be in the registry in a TypedURLs key:
157729 - How to Clear the History Entries in Internet Explorer:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q157729
DelTypedURL.inf from http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelTypedURL.inf will clear
this list.
EditURLs from http://www.aandrc.com/editurls/index.htm will clear selected
entries.

Another program might be locking your history.

Or you might need to delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be
created on restart.
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.

Don

I have the same problem and have gone into autocomplete to
clear forms and still have the same problem. what other
solutions?

I solved it the hard way, logged in with administrator, went into the users
"documents and settings" and deleted the directories 'cookies', 'temporary
internet files' and 'history'. And then logged back on with the user, the
deleted directories are automatically created and everything is gone ;-))

Sometimes it's not worth the time bother why something doesn't work in
Microsoft products if you find a solution to fix it!
