RoadRunner has an offering that requires the new version10 of Real Player
which, I read is supposedly less their historic nasties but not wholly
without a new slate of issues.

The requisite AdAware, Spybot, SpyWareBlaster as well as ZAPro and NAV are
all in residence here with XPPro admin priviledges.

I realize this question isn't quite security software related, but what
experiences have any of you peeps had with RP10?

TIA

Charlie

I haven't used it - Real Player scares me.

A friend sent me this link for RealOne, tho, saying

"The BBC, being a public service broadcaster, are forbidden from
advertising. However, their internet streams are in Real format - the player
of which is not known for being ad-free. The BBC have done a deal with Real
to provide a "clean" version of RealOne (Windows only) - only available from
the link below."

It appears that RP is still up to their old tricks on the BBC site as well.
Not only couldn't I determine exactly which version (e.g. 10) was being
offered but wasn't able to get to the truly free one for download. All tiny,
hidden 'free player' links ultimately led to their Gold edition.

Thanks for the link, Lanwench.

I do appreciate it

Oh well - sorry it was no better. I haven't tried it myself.... thought it
was worth a shot.
