After using a PC with XP Pro on it for a few years I was aware that XP opens
& plays the Microsoft sound to give the impression that the system is 100 %
up & ready when it really isn't. We have just gotten a laptop that has XP
Home on it & the time delay from the time your desktop appears & the
hourglass stops & the time when the Microsoft sound is heard is many times
longer. Is this normal for XP Home or is it a laptop thing?
