When i try to connect to a music site using Firefox, I get message that
relates to a buffer overflow in PNEN3260.DLL. This file is a Real
Alternative file. Its version is 10.0.0.476. Does this file need to be
upgraded.

If not please could you suggest a solution

Thanks

Could be. As a rule I've found it pays to regularly update the
Real Alternative codecs -- it seems to solve all sorts of glitches
for me.

Thank you

Hope it clears up the problem for you.

Yes, it seems to have solved the problem

Once I downloaded the latest version, I simply allowed it to setup in
the original directory containing the old programme. Hence, it
overwrote the old files. I hope that this was the best way to install
it.

Thanks

ps. the new prog noticed that my version of DirectX was dated and
suggested an upgrade. But things seem to be working fine.

Yes; that's the best way to do it.

Updating the RA codecs is worth putting on one's list of regular
maintenance tasks -- I do it every few months (or whenever
something appears to be broken with it).

I though everything was ok but

when trying to stream through Firefox, I got the message

General Error
rtsp://mv8.bbc.net.uk/radio2/soundssixties.ra

However, when I started Media PLayer Classic the site streamed.

Should I put the media player classic link into Windows startup

Thanks

A

ps my version of media player classic is 6.4.8.9 (don't know if this is
an old version - but it works)
