reading text difficulty

I am having a problem reading text, it appears to have a green and red tinge
to it and it makes my eyes go funny. I have my display settings set to clear
type but it still hurts me to view

Then it's not a Windows issue. If this is a TFT/LCD monitor, make sure
that the screen resolution matches its native resolution. If this is a
CRT monitor, make sure that there are no electromagnetic sources around
the monitor (loudspeaker boxes etc.).
