Does anyone know how to get rid of the readign pane for windows without
having to manually go thru each folder and disable it?

Start outlook using the /cleanviews switch then go to View, arrange by...
and find Define Views. Select the view and disable the preview pane, I think
it's in Other settings.

I'm curious though, why do you want to disable it?

I am looking to diasble this feature totally. your resolve appaears to be
the same as click view/preview pane/off except your way takes 10 times
longer. Why don't I want it? - Answer - it is a pain in the neck as it
marks the item read when in fact it has not been read and takes up too
much screen space to display something I don't want to see.
