reading pane - how do I preview e-mail and have it not marked as .

Currently, an e-mail viewed from the reading pane is automatically marked as
read. Is there a way to preview the e-mail in the reading pane, but not have
it marked as read?
 
Tools>Options>Other Tab>Reading Pane Button>Uncheck Mark
items as read when viewed in the Reading Pane.
