Is there a way to not have Word open every document in Reading Layout view. I
would like Word to open my documents in Print Layout. I looked in Tools -
Options but didn't see anywhere there to change it.

Thanks very much for your help.

Best regards,

One method would be to Copy & Paste the contents of the old document into a
document created using the newly modified Template.

It's in Tools > Options on the General tab, in the upper right corner:
"Allow starting in Reading Layout". Uncheck that option.

Once that's out of the way, documents will usually open in the view they had
when they were saved -- for creating new documents, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/SaveViewAndZoom.htm. If you want to force
existing documents to open in Print Layout, regardless of how they were
saved, you need an AutoOpen macro.
