read outlook at home

What version of Exchange? Did you ask your admin? Most orgs enabled OWA -
some enable Outlook Anywhere for Outlook 2003/2007 so you can use Outlook
instead of a browser.

Well, ask your "office" IT folks on how they have provided, if any,
access to their mail server from outside their corporate network. If
they haven't set it up for external access, you're aren't connecting to
it no matter what you use.
