How do you remove the read only from a CD using Windows XT home can't it be
done thank you

Files become read only when written to the CD, this state can not be changed
on the CD, copy the file to your HDD then right click on the file and select
properties, select the General tab and remove the read only attibute.

CD-RW disks are, of course, a different kettle of fish.

Can not be done. CD's ARE read-only, period, for all files on them.

Note that that CD is more fully described as a CDROM. The "RO" in
CDROM" stands for "read only." That's the nature of CDROMs and it
can't be changed.
