"read only"

I copied my DB to a disk and tried to install it on another computer.
As I wanted to uncheck "read only" in DB Attributes of the Properties, I get
the message: An error occured applying attributes to the file
D:\cps207\cps207.mdb
Access is denied
Can someone tell me what I have to do to transfer my DB to another computer
in a NOT "read only" mode?

Let me guess, you were trying to change the file attributes on the CD.ROM,
where ROM stands for Read Only Memory.

If so copy the file to a disk and change the attributes on that disk.

Try another file, changing the attribute to read only and then back.
Do you have rights on that computer to make those changes?

Hold on there. I misread that path D:\cps207\cps207.mdb I thought it
was C:\cps207\cps207.mdb. On my computer D: is a local hard drive. That
sounds like you are on the CD. As I noted, CD's are my their nature read
only. You need to copy the file to a local drive, usually C: Then make the
changes on the local drive, not the disk.
