read only status

when I make a new worksheet I cannot save it to any other
location, it says "read only", I've checked the property
for the excel program and each individual worksheet and
the read only box is not checked, have tried saving it
under another file and file name, checked the tools bar
under protection and the unprotect is not there,,,,,how
can I eliminate the read only status if it's not checked
to save it as such,,,thanks for any help
 
Make sure you have write permission to the directory you are saving
to.
