Software: Word 2002, Worldox (document management) 2002.
User inadvertently locked a document using the Forms toolbar and then made
the document read only (Tools, Options, Security, checkbox). Since there are
no form fields anywhere in the document, she can't type anywhere in it and
needs to remove the lock while keeping the filename and document number the
same (important for what they're doing). Turning off the document management
program doesn't seem to help. Word doesn't allow you to uncheck the box for
read-only recommended and then save the file, which makes sense, but how do
you give write privileges back to the file? Can you? Note: She doesn't get
the "read only recommended" dialog box on opening the file. Suggestions,
please, and thanks for your help. -- Lori
