TOOLS/OPTIONS then select E-mail options under the E-mail tab. select Tracking
Options and check "For all messages I send request Read receipt".
Alternatively, if you only want a receipt for a particular message, you can opt
for this when composing the message. New Message/Options (not TOOL/OPTIONS this
time)and select options from drop down list. Under Voting and tracking Options
you can check "request a read receipt for this message"
