Reactivate 'My Computer' icon

I deactivated the 'My Computer' icon on the desctop and now I can't remember
how to reactivate it. I could of course drag a short cut from the explorer,
but according to some it works differently and there should be a factory set
icon which is activated or deactivated.

Can someone give a hint please?

By "deactivated" I take it you mean you deleted it, yes?

Control Panel>Display>Desktop>Customize button. Select the icons you
wish to have appear on the Desktop. Apply/OK out.
