Just bought a brand new laptop. I am installing an
upgrade from home to professional and it is telling me i
need igfxext.exe file from disk. Where do I find??

I had a similar problem. This file is part of the Intel graphics (video)
drivers for something called the "Intel Extreme Graphics". What I did
was to click "cancel" for each time the upgrade asked for this file.
The upgrade proceeded and finished OK except the graphics device
defaulted to a VGA (low-res) mode. I then went to the Intel download
site: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/support_intel.asp
selected "Chipset software" then browsed on over to the appropriate
chipset for my case (which was "Intel 800 series" then "Intel 845 chipset",
it may be different in your case, so use the proper one) then downloaded
the graphics driver for Win/XP pro. (In my case this file was WIN2K_XP131.exe,
7 MB, but may be different for your case).

After the (XP) upgrade had completed I installed the new drivers using this
downloaded program, and it correctly installed and the display is now
working at full res.

The above is just to help anyone who may have a similar problem. Please
use caution when applying to your particular case.
