Re Opening Windows

Thanks for answers but: open a window but not closing the window want to open
multiple windows and to leave on desktop. When I open a window click on an
icon or shortcut on desktop that window I had opened now opens this window
and there's never more than one window opened. I want to open 4 or 5 and have
them remain open.
 
if you are running windows xp, go to My Computer, Tools, Folder
Options, Browse Folders, and select "Open new folder in its own windw"
radio button.
