I installed a slave drive in my new computer. It shows up in "set
up" but it doesn't show up in windows. It is does not appear in "my
computer". I have a Zip drive that is named the D drive, does that
need to be renamed? Thanks for any help.

Your slave drive needs formatting before it will show up in Windows.
Formatting can be achieved in various ways. One way is, from XP: go to
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer Management (a
faster way to achive this is right-click "My Computer"). Now go to "Disk
Management". Here your slave drive will show up in the right pane,
probably as "Disk 1". This is also the proper place to (re)assign drive
letters.

Thanks for the tip, this is really a friendly group. I see that one
of the options in disk manegement is "do not format", is this the
option I would use if I wanted to install the hard drive from my old
computer as a slave in my new computer in order to transfer files?
Thanks for any info.
