Hi Dani,

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to:

In the right pane scroll down to UIHost. Double click

Hello,

My Windows XP Pro was working fantastic until last night.
After it is "alone" for about 20 minutes it will come up
with numerous errors (event log is showing one about
every 10 minutes) saying that the Application Logon UI
has encountered a problem. When I check the event viewer,
this is what it says:

Faulting application logonui.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106,
faulting module logonui.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, fault
address 0x00006ed8.

I have tried copying a new loginui.exe from another
working XP machine with no luck. Sometimes now when
logging in the system just hangs and has to be hard-
rebooted with just the hourglass showing. Other times it
will login successfully. Anyone have any ideas? If you
dont mind also copying your reply to (e-mail address removed)
I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Dani

.

Unfortunately it is a continued issue.. No viruses even
in safe mode.. Any other ideas?

Thanks..
Dani

(much snippage, some info left for reference)
UI has encountered a problem.

Since you've tried all the software-related fixes, I'd then look to
hardware problems. You may be having failing RAM, power supply, heat
issues, something shorting on motherboard, etc. If troubleshooting
hardware isn't your thing, take the box to a good local shop for
testing. If all the hardware tests OK, then clean reinstall Windows.

Good luck,

Malke
