Re-Installing Windows XP

Hi, my name is Natalie and I think I have major problems with my computer. I
run windows xp. My computer is extremely slow, when I run my anti virus and
other things it all shows up clear. I was fiddling with it the other night
and now I'm not sure if I have added to my problems myself or not?!

I would like to be able to completely wipe my puter and re-install windows
xp again. Can I do this myself without having to go to the huge expense of
paying someone else? If so, could I please have step by step instructions on
how to to this?
