Re-Installing windows components

a while ago i saw a post that i belive had a command line or somthing
similar that re-installed some main windows components from the CD... to fix
problems of missing files or corrupt so on...

i seem to be having problems finding that cmd line and any posts with it...
so if somone knows what im talking about could you post it please. thx

You're probably thinking of this command:
sfc /scannow
