Re-Install XP

Have a Fujitsu laptop with only USB inputs.
Have Formatted the hard drive and am ready to re-install XP but am unable to
access the external liteon combo SOHC-5232KX drive.
A:\ drive is working fine via an external usb floppy.
Assume I have to add a driver to the Config.sys file but am unsure.
Is this true and if so need to know what command to use.

The XP installation CD is bootable. If needed enter the BIOS and set the CD
as the first boot device.
 
I think he means that he has no internal CD drive. The CD drive is external
apparently.
I believe he is asking how to access the external CD drive to install XP.
Is the external drive USB also?

Sorry I misread your post. The ability to see a USB external CD drive is a
feature of the laptop BIOS. Enter the BIOS and look for a setting to enable
USB boot.
 
The CD drive is external too, usb connection hence my thoughts that I
probably have to install the driver using the floppy in the Config.sys file
but am unsure of the command.

Have been to BIOS previously and set to boot first etc. plus have already set
to: "legacy storage device emulation is enabled. Usb floppy &/or usb cd-rom
are available without usb aware OS". Believe these are all the correct
settings.

You might want to contact the tech support for the laptop. It is determined
by the BIOS.
 
Have rung Fujitsu help desk twice now and they say that they will call back -
thanks for your time
