I had a computer crash. We did a recovery and a re-install of Windows. When
you open a Windows application it asks you to enter the product key. We
enter the original product key from the tag on the back of the computer (it
is not attached to the software). It tells you the product key is incorrect.
Please advise ... tahnks

Is it possible your original installation was upgraded with a newer version
of the software? (and therefore a newer code?)

Are you sure the code you are entering is an Office licence one and not a
Windows licence code? (as the latter usually comes on a label, the former
does not)

I guess what i'm trying to say is... Check what the code is for (and
version) and then check what verison you are installing, eg. an Office 2000
code won't work on a 2003 installation.

Hope that helps! :)
