Use the Equation Editor to do this. Place your cursor where you want the
fraction, click "Insert", "Object", "Create new", click and select "Equation
Editor...". You will see a toolbar with a lot of various symbols, etc.
Once you are done, click off it to exit the Equation Editor and return to
Word. To edit it, double-click it.
It does take a little getting used to, but once you have the hang of it, it
will make equations much easier to create.
