Re-formatting hardrive.

My Microsoft Security Baseline Analyzer keeps recommending that I change my
hardrive from FAT 32 to NTFS. I have Windows XP-home as my OS w/SP2.
My hardrive is a 160GB Samsung. Processor: Pentium 4-3.0 w/Hyperthreading.
Any comments as to the pros and cons?? Is this easy to do? Will I lose any
data?
Thanks for your input.

MBSA is wise in advising that. NTFS is an inherently safer format. An
obvious choice for your system from what I can see.

To add to that, NTFS adds security features (such as encryption). It
also allows for larger file sizes (limited to 2 GB of FAT, unlimited in
NTFS). Here is how to do it:

Click Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools

I believe you are going to find the convertor there, though I may be
wrong since I always use NTFS from the XP Setup, so it doesn't put the
convertor on the computer.

Converting does not lose your data though it is always a good idea to
backup your data before making any changes (or just making regular backups).
