Question: Looking for suggestion on what what is the
best way of re-formatting harddrive C: loaded with
windows XP-Pro. Have tried to format on C: promp with
no luck. Downloaded Boot Disk (6) for Windows Pro. Before
attempting to use, looking for help. Tks

Put in your XP Pro cd, then restart the computer, go into
the bios and make sure the 1st boot device is enabled as
your CDROM drive, then save the bios and exit, watch as
the system boots you will notice a screen that says "boot
from cd, press any key" hit a key and it will start to
run the cd, then when prompted repartition and reformat
the drive. Do not use the floppies unless necessary.
Make sure to repartition and reformat the drive because
if not you will still have the same data when you
restore, follow all prompts through the installation.

Or take it to a repair shop where it will be a cake walk,
1 hour job.

Good luck!

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of
the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
