Ever since a recent windows/office update I can no longer click on links in
emails and have them appear in my browser. It says, "This operation has been
canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your
system administrator." Is this a windows security thing or an office security
thing, and how do I fix it?
Thanks

IE7, although my default browser is set to firefox. I don't think that it is
on the browser side though. The problem started with the last windows and
office update, and also due to the nature of the error I expect that has to
do with security parameters in one of them.

It's a side effect of using another browser as your default, I believe. Try
resetting the browser settings: Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Reset. Or,
if you're using Windows XP, click Start>Set Program Access and Defaults and
make IE your default browser. If you're using Vista, do the same operation,
but I don't recall where that is at the moment, because I'm not at my Vista
machine. It's on Control Panel, however.
