Re-arranging application order on taskbar

I would like to rearrange the order in which the
applications are situated on my taskbar. For example, in
my start menu I have a list of programs / files that open
when I boot up, but I also like to have them in a
particular order, so sometimes I ultimately have to close
everything if I want to open it in it's proper order. Your
help appreciated.
