Re-activation headache

I recently replaced a DOA motherboard which Intel honored being under the 3 year guarantee.
Windows XP Pro forced me to re-activate within 3 days to keep the system up and running. Now I'm aware of the policy of motherboard changes, however this board was identical, chipset and all. I think that's a little overkill. This customer hot swaps hard drives for buisness, design and development, and web browsing, so he is going to be forced to activate all of them. If Microsoft lets him.

Was the motherboard's serial number identical also? I don't think so!

I have to agree with these people. the re-activation for Windows XP on the same machine that it was originally on is a pain

Why doesn't Microsoft wake up and do something about it

All they want is more money, as if they didn't have enought to begin with

Every tome I try to do anything with MS they want to charge me more than I paid for some of their products. this i rediculous

I have the same p[rogblem with re-activateing my Windows XP Pro aas these people, but I couldn't get stified so I went to the home addition that does not have any limit for re-activation, that I know of

This cost me even more money and can not even use the expensive program, Windows XP Pro. What a waste.

There are no limits to the number of times XP can be installed on the same
computer, Pro or Home.
