I installed a network card yesterday which sent me over
the limit of changes to my computer and XP wants me to re-
activate, however when the activation window opens all I
get is the frame with the background containing a a
picture of a pair of keys but nothing else. I had to do it
a couple of months ago with no problems. I have tried all
the steps in the knowledge base including the most
unpleasant "re-install XP" which after a couples hours of
screwing around failed on its final phase. Fortunately I
had made an image of the disk and was able to get back. My
three days is going to run out, has anybody got any ideas.

When Product Activation fails, select the option to "activate by telephone".
This will put you in touch with a Microsoft representative who will issue
a new product activation code (free-of-charge).

The steps I took that I mentioned in my first post came
from that article in the Knowledge Base. I am also always
current with my updates, any other ideas.
